Easy Equities good or bad?

I got an email now... regarding “Thrive”. R25 per account from 31 Nov if you aint on Thrive level 3 at least

So much for their "no platform fees".

Well I suppose I had a good run. 2017 until present.

What irks me is them hiding that fee as a Thrive benefit, and Thrive has been **** for years now. SMH.

The last time I looked into this, you had to do stupid things like buy their crappy unit trusts and such. Last thing I want is a portfolio cluttered with R25 investments into various crappy products.

Yeah. I used to be able to hit the targets back in the day because they didn't require you to invest in their dumb bundles. Then they changed it and I gave up.

Why do you need the thrive thing? Just cancel that crap

It's not too bad I suppose. The way to get levels are explained here. By just depositing every month and never withdrawing you can hit level 3 and not have to pay that fee. But they don't mention minimums. Their T&C's for "Thrive" are still from 2020, so there are more questions that answers at the moment.

I don't think you can. From the mail:
This fee will only be charged to clients that do not reach an easily achievable Thrive Level 3 or above. Users 21 years of age and below, as well as users 65 years of age and above will be exempt from the Thrive Fee.

I haven't received anything like that, but - I'm already starting to use the platform less, tired of all the issues.

So basically, if you ever decide to withdraw money from the platform they will give you a R25 penalty fee that month.

And then they are incentivizing people to invest into certain products, which sounds a bit like a scam. And then want you to donate to their chosen charities, wouldn't be surprised if there is some hidden money laundering going on with those chosen charities.

What is going to happen if you have less than R25 available in the account?

So many questions, so little answers. Way to go suddenly putting a monthly fee on the platform and then first going off a tangent of how great the platform is. Sounds almost like Ramaphosa's speech last night, things are going so great, we caused all the problems, but don't worry we are making great progress fixing them.

They make money from people being active on their platform. IIRC the last results were down on the previous year in that there were a lot of people who had invested through EE but who were sitting on their investments and not doing much month to month. This seems to be an attempt to push people to transact more regularly.

I personally don't appreciate being told I must 'Thrive' as it was the absence of a monthly fee that makes EE viable if you are investing relatively small amounts
