Easy Equities good or bad?

I haven't received any email on this, but yes lots of questions.

So, for now, one can get around it by setting up an automated payment of R100 per month into your account as long as you don't withdraw? Does that count for your TFSA as well?

Having to jump through inane hoops to save R25 a month is admin no one needs.
How did they think forcing people who had something for free to now pay R25 is the smart move?
Why not make a free tier (which we currently have) and then a premium tier which those users may have more features? Imagine someone saving R100 a month into stocks/TFSA/RA now being charged 25% of their contribution per month unless they buy a shitty thrive stock?

According to the below T&C's they'll sell your investments if you don't have enough cash balance -
Can anyone find the source of that screenshot? As the rules I found don't mention it (but how else will they deduct the fees if there's no cash balance, unless your account becomes dormant and you must pay an amount to withdraw).

How is it?

It takes some getting used to - it seems far less buggy than easy equities - but - they don't have as much exposure to the various markets (yet - I'm assuming) - so some of what you have access to in easy equities isn't available.

I do feel its aimed at the mobile market - the app seems far easier to use than the website - and I'm used to doing everything on my PC.

Starting this month I'll be doing mosy of my transactions on Now Clarity to see how it goes.

Out of interest, anyone know how the R25 thing works if you only have a TFSA - or the shitty property thing thats near impossible to get out of.

So what does Thrive even do? What's the point of it?

I've read the website blurb and there is nothing there that convinces me I should even be bothering making this post never mind actually using the thing.

All the "rewards" seem to be EE platform based and there is nothing more I need there.

I think the issue is if you don't use it now, you get charged a monthly fee.

No that's fine and I understand that.

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would WANT to use it? The benefits just aren't there or their sales pitch is so bad I must be missing something.

The way I see it is they needed/wanted to start charging a monthly fee, but didnt want to call it that. This way they get to sneak one in. You will "want" to use it to keep the service free basically. BS if you ask me.

But why would you want the Thrive service?

Just turn it off and you don't have a fee.

But even so this just seems to cover redundant accounts that aren't funding themselves and I'm fine with that incurring a fee, it makes a lot of business sense. It gets very expensive to service "customers" who are really non-customers.
