Easy Equities good or bad?

How did you notice?
I received dividends today but never go back and calc it.

When I get div's, I spend it the next day. Yesterday afternoon, was R60 in the red, as in -R60. This morning, I am R200 in the green, as in more divs incoming related to Satrix.

I've never actually checked my dividends from any of my ETFs... and now you're making me wonder...

I asked earlier if there was a report to see the dividends, havent got a reply yet, but i suspect there isnt.

Guys,

Is there report or something to see the total value of dividends paid to me this year, or in a given month or something?

I'm with ABSA and these reports are available. Can't imagine EE doesn't have something similar

It is listed in the monthly statement. It takes almost a month for a statement to appear. I really wish they would email the monthly statements. They are super useful for getting information about your accounts, like total amount of dividends and interest received per month, there is also a graph showing dividends over the past few months.

Thank you very much, this is very useful.

Strange that they consider a transfer of funds from one account to another a withdrawal on this report.

Yeah, I also found that strange, but I guess it does make sense, it probably originated from the TFSA account, and they standardized it.

I am curious, what happens if you "withdraw" more to another EE account than what you deposited into EE for that month. Do they then charge the thrive fee?

Just thought I'd throw the old EE screws you over typical South African bone into the pile.

If you have a USD account, at the bottom left of your profile / portfolio page just take a look at the Total Brokerage and Statutory Costs, it should be a total charge that you have paid EE for all your transactions. Take that amount and multiply it by 17.5 then you can proceed to vomit.

EE is almost exactly 10x more expensive than what an American firm charges you in their costs. Just let that sink in...

I’ve only done two USD transactions, but my fees are 0.6% of the transaction value. Does not seem terrible?

let me help :

In America, land of the free God bless America, I pay $0.35 max for purchasing shares, if I buy ETFs it's free.
In Easy Equities land of the rip off, for $500 you'll pay around $3.50 and it scales up drastically, it's disgusting.

Interesting, I must look into it.
Don’t know about America at all, but I bought well over $500 and only got the 0.6 % fee.
What percentage of trade would be on EFTs - How would a brokerage survive without charging a fee? If not in an upfront % of the value, it would probably be in an annual holding fee.
Some brokerages charge 1-2% commissions, so 0.6% seemed reasonable to me.
It was a one off purchase, I don’t trade so that would obviously make a difference.

dear lord 1-2%... Vanguard is like 0.1% max lol. Any broker / financial advisor can really go jump, they're not Mr. Simmons

take a look at https://www.interactivebrokers.com/ move USD into it with Shyft, they're really cheap at the forex conversion rate. There is a South African guy that walks you through all the steps on YouTube, really really helpful

has anyone logged into their EE and noticed the "monthly activity" for October 2024 it will state your Dividends, mine says R58.... I don't own any SA companies, I only have USD and got around $50+ in dividends last month.

any ideas wtf is up with that? I have auto reinvest on
