I would love this as I can then link my kids' accounts to mine, instead of having to log out of mine and into each of theirs individually.

Hi,
We will certainly look into adding additional filter requirements, makes sense to filter between ETFs and normal shares.
No talk of unit trusts at this point, but will keep you updated if I hear anything.

Gosh we are all waiting in anticipation.
Our back-end dev work is done, we are just looking for an easy and cost-effective way to exchange the funds (ZAR to USD etc).
Not a cheap exercise but we continue to search for you.

I don't know if this has been asked before. What I would love is a feature whereby you can create different portfolios of stocks and assign percentages to them. Then when you want to purchase, the site would automatically balance your portfolio according to your weightings with an option to sell or not.

Guys, you don't own any shares when you invest with EE, they will acquire the share and issue you with a contract for fractional share rights.

If 4 of us each buy a quarter of a share, EE will buy a whole share and issue each of us with a contract for 25% of the share.

They own the share and they get the contract note from the JSE, not us.

yes that is correct on the fractional shares.

on full shares, the share cerifticate is handled by the assigned transfer secretary(you will get this from the yearly results for your specific share . i quote an email from EE :

As per our conversation earlier, attached is the Annual financial results of Coronation.

The below is a snippet from the attachment with the transfer secretary highlighted.
Directors: S Pather (Chairman)*, A C Pillay (CEO), J A Snalam (CFO), L Boyce*, J G February*, J D McKenzie*,

A Watson* (* Independent non-executive)

Registered office: 7th Floor, MontClare Place, Cnr Campground and Main Roads, Claremont 7708, Cape Town

I even confirmed this first by emailing JSE directly, as i wanted to get it from two sources.
EE, is the broker, and performed the transaction in your name. The Transfer secretary then does the paperwork, and keeps a record of the share.

In the case of Computershare above, i gave them a call to see if a shareholding can be emailed, but they were not allowed to.
you are ,however, free to visit their offices to see a record of share ownership (eg you cant print it out, but visually verify it)

As far as I know Computershare has no online access for the man on the street, the login on the site is for brokers. Joe Public can however call and get info or trade telephonically. Or go into the offices.
 
Actually if you phone Computershare they cannot pick up your shares that is bought through EE because according to EE the shares are registered in a nominee company.
But except for this I do have a question
Why must I wait for 24 hours to receive my dividends on the platform nice way of earning interest on my money
 
What happens in the case of a fractional share that you own half of for example:-

Say it drops from R500 to R300 with EE holding the other half. Does EE pickup the R200 loss?

Too my knowledge EE will, worst case scenario, only sit with a fraction of each share on the JSE provided that a part of each share on the JSE has been bought through their platform. Basically a CFD with 1:1 gearing/ratio/whatever.

If I buy 50% of NPN, and you buy 50% of NPN, EE will hold no fraction of NPN themselves. If I own 50% of MPN and you 40%, them they'll hold 10%.
