Easy Equities good or bad?

are you guys still happy. im not looking for day to day functionality. im buying and holding. just don't want to come 5/10 years down the line then struggle to get my money because they belly up.
There's enough info here as someone said. Personally, a company that can't do accurate book keeping and has numerous basic site flaws as we've seen and then doesn't respond to it, I wouldn't trust with my life savings or investments.

Yet here you are...

Here I am what?

think he means that you seem not to have any reason to be here since you declare that you wouldn't trust them with your money but yet you continue to be a major contributor to the thread.

And that means I shouldn't be?

I have had an account with ABSA for 4 years or so and was one of the first to have an EE account - so a couple of years or so. I have also used their Future Trader and CFD platform

At one point I was thinking of moving my main account from ABSA to EE, now am am so glad I did not. After dealing with them for these couple of years, I really do not trust them.

It started with them taking dividend tax on a REIT, me phoning in to correct them, and them telling me I was wrong! They eventually phoned back to apologize - but to not know such a simple thing, scary.

Then there has just been multiple errors, not answering emails or giving incorrect information. There seems to be no controls - any new employee get's the admin password and told to have fun.

One thing that amazes me, after not having any success with CFD's is you get a guy (Walter Lamberti) trying to get you to put your money into their managed solution - Emperor. What message is that sending? He will also contact you if you have an EE account,

The message he is sending? We have multiple ways for you to self invest. They are all crap. After you have lost a sufficient amount of money, we will contact you and push our managed solution. Yup, pretty bad

Do not even bother with their CFD/ Future accounts. Badly designed with a terrible interface - often the graphs "stick" so you cannot trust what you are seeing. 0.1% on CFD's(buy and sell) and no minimum is a great price on CFD's so probably worth it for smaller accounts

Easy Equities is a great product, but only for small accounts, IMO. Do you really want to have to check that they are paying the correct amount of dividends into the account ever time?

Personally, if you going to be adding R5000 p/m or or starting with R50K and then adding to it, go for a proper account with a proper stockbroker that knows what they are doing. But for small amounts and for guys just dipping their toes into equities, they are good.

Personally, will be closing my TFSA with them and moving it to ABSA when it is allowed.

I am debating closing all positions R10K and above with them and moving them to my ABSA account

At the moment I am trying to close my Future Trader account - and as per usual, getting the run around and been given incorrect information.

sent them my fica docs yesterday and still waiting for a human response. anybody try to move from EE already? how easy is it?

This. Most likely this. I already moved my other ETFs to ABSA. The only single share I still have with EE is NEP and waiting that out for three years because tax. After that I'll move it as well.

For an ETF "only" guy like me EE is great for speculating with regular shares...in small amounts. But I just prefer ABSA's system (and this is mostly to do with the fact that it LOOKS like a proper platform instead of this pink bricky candy crush saga mess)

Is it like EE, where u can choose from multiple ETFs u want to hold etc within your TFSA? Also whats the expected timeline for implementation of TFSA Transfers?

Currently I have EE (because i liked the diy nature and fees but its been a naggin worry) and FNB (just keeping whats needed for eBucks etc). So been looking for an EE equivalent with more assurity in the way of backing that i can transfer to once it becomes possible.

I have an ABSA TFSA account but haven't used it yet. My assumption is that it is exactly like their ETF only account.

You have the available instruments (just like EE) but when you buy you have to put in a price you are willing to buy (or sell) at and you can keep that bid/offer lying there for a period of time. EE automates all of this but gives you less control (and then you have MyBB people freaking out because of the price difference  )

TFSA transfers will probably come in November if government is to be believed.

This. As I keep saying EE is only for small amounts. Makes no difference if you are trading or investing as they are crap for both in larger amounts.

You're still here, bruh?
Any valid reason I shouldn't be?

I presume you mean GT247, because Easy Equities didn't exist "a couple of years or so".
