Easy Equities good or bad?

What official comms are you looking for? Because:

* They have mailed
* Info on the main Thrive page
* KB article on it
* Blog post on it

Short of Charles giving you a call, I am not sure what you are looking for.
A banner at the top of their website.
Did you check your junk? Did you unsubscribe from their mailing lists? Did you reach out to them and ask why you never got a mail?
Why should I? Tymebank sends me a yearly fee email and I have promotional email comms turned off. You should always get important emails.
I am 100% with the people who are angry about them hiding the platform fee behind a loyalty program, but it's getting a bit ridiculous now.

Now we are making up scenarios not even remotely related. Not going to bother trying to reason with that

If you are unhappy, leave them. But can we move on from using this thread to announce departures?
No it's not there are probably still people who don't know about it. This serves a purpose.

Yes, I've checked my spam folder.

Yes, I've unsubscribed from their comms.

If a company implements a new fee that will affect you, that is not newsletter material. That is critical communication that must be communicated across all channels, more than once.

I am actively investigating my options for moving away. I promise not to announce my departure herein, Mr. Norris.

People unsubscribe from their mails, people don't get mails

You are the same sort of okes who would complain if you got mailed because you unsubscribed.

Perhaps a pity support group is better suited for you than this thread.

There is a massive difference between marketing (aka spam) emails and important account specific emails. I've unsubscribed from their marketing emails, but still receive account deposit notifications. Surely it's not rocket science to figure out this is an important change that all customers should be informed about?

How many of those went out/up after all the public attention?

Remember, **** fit the fan and suddenly Charles was on the MoneywebNOW podcast and the intent wasn't veiled much at all: He was there to answer questions.

If the communication was that good (or existed at all), the CEO wouldn't be dragged out at short notice trying to do damage control.

Read the thread FFS. We don’t care about the fee. We care that it wasn’t communicated and that it’s tied to some BS loyalty program. I’ll rather pay more at Sygnia and elsewhere and avoid dealing with the childish EE website.

Its kicking in 1 Jan 2024. Think 2 months to prep and to inform clients is above the norm

Except I still haven't received any communication about this from EE. I only know because of the media outcry. I can imagine there are still a bunch of people who are in the dark about the changes.

Think with all the headlines, news topics... if you dont know by now... you will soon see R25 fees going off

If you are only using the Tax free portion do you bypass this ridiculous R25 fee?
from what I understood, if you deposit your full R36k in the 1st month, then you pay no fees, but not sure.....
ABSA works like that

Hey okes, so I just got an Easy Equities account, before I finish making my profile and try this out, I want to ask some questions:
  • What is the general experience of EE?
  • What is this R25 fee everyone talks about on this thread page?
  • Give a quick intro/tutorial to this game for a newbie (I'm familiar with the concept of stocks and companies, but not so much the nitty gritty stuff)
