Easy Equities good or bad?

This is only valid for capital gains

I quickly read up. This is what i got:

“There will be capital gains tax payable when you sell the shares. The gain will be calculated based on the difference between the proceeds (R 125) and the option cost (R 75), multiplied by the number of shares. After deducting the R 40 000 annual exclusion, 40% of the gain will be included in your taxable income.”

Yes, capital gains. Not income tax. There are a number of factors to consider in determining whether capital gains or income tax is applicable

But tax, cgt only applies to sales non-tfsa accounts right? Just to make it clear for everyone .

As far as I know, I can sell inside TFSA but as long as that money stays in TFSA or even if I do decide to cash out, there is not CGT/Tax payable regardless of gain.

Correct. The TF in TFSA is for tax-free. Anything to do with TFSA is a special case

Correct what you are saying. You can do what you want in the “product”, but try not to cash out. Its a longterm project

If I remember... the 1nvest has the cheapest fees. Either way figure out which one is the cheapest and use that one.
Is it? I've found the following :

1nvest_SP500_Index_Feeder_ETF
Total Investment Charge 0.27%

Satrix S&P 500 Feeder ETF

Management fee* 0.14% (incl. VAT)
Total expense ratio (TER)** 0.25% (incl. VAT)
Transaction cost (TC)*** 0.00% (incl. VAT)

Sygnia Itrix S&P 500 ETF
Management Fee 0.10 % (ex vat) so 0.25%
An upfront fee (up to a maximum of 0.1%) may be charged in connection with the expenditure incurred and
administration performed in respect of the creation, issue and sale of securities. Such fee will be expressed as
a percentage of the consideration received from investors.

Yeah, like I said "If I remember".

But eitherway find the cheapest one and use that.

if you have a ETF in your TFSA how are you paying TER costs? when you have an administrator for your RA with the same ETF then I expect TER costs to be a consideration.

The ETF "eats itself". The provider "takes its cut" from your capital and then pays you what's due on the rest.

Anyone have any experience doing a position transfer out of EE? I know the logistics of email etc, but I’m interested in experiences of how long it took… for them to get back to you and send the forms and for the actual transfer to go through in general?

Shouldn't be to clients to find this out by themselves. Really, really poor from EE

I got emails on emails, and it was extended with 1 month.

If clients dont take their investment serious… well, must you force the horse to drink water?
