Easy Equities suspended trading

EasyEquities is pretty dodge. You really shouldn't put much money into the market with them

I am using it to get the hang of equities, long term plan was to throw some cash in each month but not sure if I want to any more.

Thank you for the investigation @JustinPearse.
The EE platform was a very frustrating experience today.

Another day of this will make me move a platform that can actually execute my trades when I ask it to.

I am hoping there is a good explanation for this, otherwise I'm going straight to the ombudsman. Service in a cafe is one thing, but dont stuff me around when it comes to share trading.

If you use dodgy products, you shouldn't expect the same level of quality or professionalism you get from a large Financial Services Company

yea, earlier at R1.10c wanted to sell some (not all).
Now again a few minutes back at 75c I wanted to sell some (not all).

Been like that all day.
When i want to sell i cant, when i want to buy i cant.

I put a few thousand in EE. But don't trust them enough to put in more

I put a few hundred in to test, not going to be adding to that any time soon (if this is what I can expect anyway).

We all have to give them some benefit though, only seems to be Lonmin that is having issues and this type of trading I doubt is par for the course.

This is the concern. On Lonmin today, specifically, it didn't hurt because we are talking a couple of 100 bucks.

BUT, some of my other holdings are worth substantially more. I need to know that if one starts crashing that I can sell and that the platform can handle it. What if somebody lost R30,000 today because of this?

EE needs to guarantee us that they can sell and buy whenever the exchange allows else I cannot use them for anything more than very long term ETF investing.

Thats ultimately what worries me...

Right now its small amounts of money that I am pretty much gambling with, but if I were to have a significant holding, then I need to be able to trade it.

Would be interesting to hear what happened or what their excuses are

Yep. Have you ever seen a stock as barely traded as theirs?
