EasyEquities introduces R25 monthly fee

Seems they found a way to keep money rolling in to float the boat.... scary sign...

Not at all, just reasonable and logical business practise that literally every other platform like them employs.

Your bank charges far more for the same reasons.

No one besides you gets it. On the EE thread, I cant believe after telling EE customers, just deposit R1.

They think I lie
You seem to have selective reading. This is not the case, if you withdraw more than you deposit, you will be charged.

I do hope they leave us with a fast, quick and easy way to close an account, instead of arbitrarily levying fees on accounts not used some months. This would hurt consumers, especially where they made a decision and not leave any other option to opt out of this.

Would be better to transfer your holdings to another broker.

Especially if it’s a TFSA as you’ll hurt your lifetime balance if you withdraw.

The only negative thing I see, with a tfsa, if you dont want to contribute when hitting the R500 000 mark... what then?

That’s one reason I think your logic of dividend payouts is sound where that counts as income to negate the fee.

Those aren’t always monthly in nature though.

Nah, this is one boat I do not want to be part of at all. Will sell of everything and make a jump with my cash. I get nervous when a trading company suddenly comes with something like this. They have always been known for not charging any fees, even the months you do not use them. So, that is a no thanks from me. I am saving what I can.

Jy is n regte kant ne!

I never withdraw. So this aint really aint applicable to me! Lol. Thats why I keep on saying... deposit R1 (in my case)

Oh, now all your advice is specific to your case clown.

Guess you would have lost your bet if I deposited R1.

This guy is honestly brain dead. The amount of BS you post is astounding.

Go read the rule about deposits more than withdraws. Its actually a very old rule. Nothing new

I never did / use thrive before. But will do .... but actually, been having it already as I deposit a few thousand per month

So, make of it what you want. Not here to save you from your $2500 either lol

If they deduct R25 from my account at month end, I will sell all my shares and move to another platform out of principal. This is forced and disgusting, and they are about to lose a huge amount of customers and respect!
Out of principle we should all cancel.
How many clients do they have?
And where could everyone post when they have cancelled? Like a poll

And, where to move to?

You do not have to cancel anything or move anywhere. If you want to risk your investments with them, well, good luck to you.
