Any idea why my Eaton gets quite hot when the PC is switched off? I noticed my cat was really enjoying sleeping on the damn thing, only to find out its warm to the touch constantly. This doesnt seem right. When its in a charge state, the fan is running. Is it in a charge state again after the fan stops? Like a trickle stage? Is one of the battery's possibly dead and constantly being charged and never reaching full capacity?

mine gets hot when on charge.

why I only use it for my ceiling lights - light load

mecer gets hot also, it is probably just charging. My batteries are quite new, replaced them the other day

But surely the fan is on to extract that charging heat? Once the fan switches off it should be fully charged? It stays hot after that as long as its plugged into the mains.

Switching it off (to extend battery life/efficiency) whenever it's charged is not really practical for most people who are away from home during day esp with these sorts of unplanned /unscheduled cuts at essentially a minutes notice.
