I've been on discovery miles (+ vitality for clarity) for a while now, and I didn't bother getting to gold/platinum. I also didn't bother monitoring the miles since they just trickled in every month.

So i've been reading all the posts here and did the reading myself. It makes me wonder whether to bother switching or not?

So the things that I have in my mind at the moment:

* Do you need to do all your banking with fnb to really benefit from ebucks? I don't bank with fnb hence the question.
* Does it make sense to get an ebucks card anyway (even though most of the rewards are from fnb). Not sure "how free" is the ebucks card.

Anybody has advice or experiences from switching between the 2?

I switched from discovery miles to ebucks but I'm fully invested in fnb, and I have no regrets. Closed my discovery card account even.

Read the ebucks thread on this here forum to get all the info you need.

I switched from Discovery to eBucks. Read the thread, you won't regret it.

I earn alot more with eBucks

I'm Discovery Vitality Diamond (since 2009), not on discovery miles, with a DiscoveryCard which I don't use any longer (Their offerings just got worse and worse hence I'm not gonna bother any longer)

I do all my banking with FNB, yes you need to do all your banking with FNB to reap the most rewards and get to max reward level. Yes, get the eBucks card as I think it's free, but you won't really lose out much by not having it.

I get back between R1600 and R2300 worth of Makro vouchers every month on ebucks, almost feels like I'm being paid to bank with FNB. I'm on the Gold Account option purely because of how easy it is to get to Reward Level 5 on it. You need to do most of your banking with FNB, but you won't get to Level 5 immediately. To answer you first question, you can use this link to see what reward level you would be on if you had to switch: Ebucks calculator

Question number 2, yes, you get bonus points from swiping just the ebucks card at Makro, Dischem, Supa Quik and Arthur Kaplan. Here's the non FNB reward partners to earn ebucks: Reward Partners

Lastly, I closed my discovery card years ago but still have vitality for the gym/movie benefit.
