Edith Venter robbed

Socialite Edith Venter says she can't put a price tag on the jewellery that was stolen from her during an armed robbery at her northern Johannesburg home on Tuesday.

The businesswoman and philanthropist was held at gunpoint in the driveway of her Athol home.

Venter says the two robbers made off with rings, earrings and her watch.

Police are now investigating the incident.

I doubt everyone is "in rep en roer". It was reported in the paper because she is known in certain circles. If you were a well-known figure and you got robbed, it would also make the papers.
