I think that was real. Mainly due to incompetent management and operation from executive down to the lowest level. They may have used it to profit at some point but the state of some power station is truly shocking

That still looks like they simply profited from a crisis that was already there.
Some of the mismanagement includes:
- drawing down stockpiles at power stations to "save" and earn bonuses for artificial savings
- neglecting maintenance to "save" and earn bonuses for artificial savings
- just plain old incompetence at power stations due to employment policies that favoured friends, comrades and families in the name of EE (mainly gender).

IIRC, there were small business that had to close because loadshedding impacted on their business so much that they could not sustain their losses.

People's livelihoods destroyed - for illegal profit.

I'd go as afar to say that most of these revelations are far above the average education level of the mass majority of South Africans, they only feel the effects, but do not understand the CAUSE and it's the CAUSE that need to be acutely and simply translated for all and sundry.

2 Polls suggest 54% and 62% of ANC voters do not approve of Zuma (Want him gone).

In Nqutu KZN IFP got in with 57% last week (up from 45% in local elections held in August last year. The council was hung, hence elections last week). ANC is in decline in rural KZN, Zumas former support base.
