Efiling Tax Calculation

On the sars efiling site, when you view the suggested tax calculation, if the final amount is a negative number, do I owe Sars or do they owe me ?

Last year when I got my physical tax assesment letter from sars the final value was negative and they paid me out. I'm not sure if they keep the same perspective when doing the calculation. Does anyone have clarification on this ?

A negative amount reflects a credit, however be aware that the calculator only provides an indication of the outcome of your submission based on the information provided.

There are certain circumstances that can affect the actual outcome on assessment (RAF contributions, lump sums etc etc).

Should your actual assessment vary considerably from the calculation provided request SARS to provide a breakdown/explanation.
