I've just signed up for a year contract in Saudi (well my company is paying) and I'm pretty chuffed at the deal and wanted to share.

Basically, for about R2,500 a month you get...

-Unlimited minutes to same network

-2000 minutes to any other network

-200 minutes to anywhere overseas, then about R1,50 a min after

-100GB LTE

-LTE router

-Free internet in 65 countries (MTN in RSA)

-3 sim cards

So you put one sim in your main phone for voice and data. LTE coverage is excellent and is in every corner of the cities. 3G was also working 120km outside the city in the middle of nowhere today.

One sim goes into the LTE router for home.

One sim spare for a second phone data only.

You should also get the choice of pretty much any phone but not being a Saudi national it doesn't apply. Apparently, if you renew for a second year, you get a choice of phone then.

Not bad hey?

Lol, yeah I thought about it after I posted and thought that's a lot of dosh if it's coming out of your own pocket.

Still the 100GB data, and close to two hours of international minutes is a winnner. Although you will probably use the data to make VOIP calls anyhow ;)

Enjoy your stay there!
