Either Seacom or Internet Solutions are causing issues...

Either Seacom is still fooked or IS is doing some dodgey things on their side. We have a 4mb line with an Afrihost 5gb account and any/all traffic to the US is beyond disgust.

Our transfer rate will be anything between 15kB/s - 40kB/s testing on speedtest.net to any server in North/South America . The minute we try testing to a server in the UK, or anywhere else on the planet for that matter, we get our usual 250+kB/s transfer.

I had exactly the same issue on my AxxessLite account - I ran a few tracerts and speed tests and those to the UK and India were fine, but anywhere else internationally was screwed. I emailed the results to Axxess, they mentioned that it appeared to be a SEACOM issue and logged a fault with IS - apparently wherever the SEACOM cable jumped onto another cable there were issues.... have still not heard any decent feedback from either Axxess or IS. This happened for about 3 weeks before I bought myself a SAIX-based openweb account and couldnt be happier! Good luck!

It is a bit faster to UK ito speed, but my latency is a lot better to the US. I've tested this on a few servers. The speed is about a third of that I get to a UK server, but those speeds you are getting is horrible.... Perhaps try a SAIX-type account...?

my axxess lite (IS) is giving very good latency 190 ms - 220 ms to my french game server on tracert
every other international site is also low

seems speedtest.net is broken for me giving high latency to france
