Elden Ring

I mean, he's not 100% wrong. Technically, it's pretty poor. Not like it has mind-bending "next gen" graphics, just seems like it's a bit of a kak engine

/waits for it

Framerate and graphic fidelity are one element of a game's technical make up. There are plenty things that the game does extremely well on a technical level. e.g. it's granular hitbox/collision detection system.

I do however agree that more could/should be done to optimize framerate stability as it is key to enjoyment of a game like this.
Its a clone troll looking for a bit of attention. Life must be sadder than usual for it.
One that has tried its luck more than once in this thread. Shame.

Why is this game so addictive?
After finishing the game I picked up Horizon Forbidden West as a stopgap between my 1st and 2nd playthrough.

Played Horizon once and went back and started a new ER character :D

I can't quite put my finger on it but I find Horizon annoying in a few aspects. I'm not sure if its the simplistic combat, overly busy world aesthetic or constant shifting of contrast as your view changes. It looks stunning while standing still but just isn't tickling me as an experience. Which is odd because I enjoyed the first game immensely.

Not intended to go anywhere but having lots of ****ed up fun with a faith/arcane, 2x daggers, 1x katana build. However, without the katana, dragon breaths (rott, level 2 fire, and normal frost), frenzy eyes, frenzy beam it might have been a lot harder. Otherwise I am still on my fly swatter; that is pure strength...

Just killed her, took 15 tries with Blasphemous sword, the weapon art rules and feels kinda OP :D

One of the coolest boss fights ever though, my jaw dropped. Sort of reminded me of Lady Maria from Bloodborne

I didn't enjoy Malenia all that much in ER. Her life on hit and excessive dodging of ranged attacked is also annoying.

I'm finding phase 1 easy, I can dodge all over her attacks quite fine. Phase I have to just burn her down as quickly as possible as she's super aggressive.

Lady Maria was epic, I still think bloodborne is the best game Fromsoftware has made. ER good, but bloodborne was better.

Malenia was not too bad, apparently the bloodhound step ash of war makes her easier as you can just step through the dance. More annoying are the big creatures that take up the entire screen, making targeting and combat really kuk if you're melee. The "Astel" bosses come to mind . Mf'er will teleport to the other side of the room constantly!

OH I forgot about that... I went pure STR build and was running around like a n00b after it. Eventually I summoned someone in to help and they used the shooting shield exploit to kill it quick (this exploit has since been patched out).

You can apparently totally cheese Malenia with blood flies spell - because she staggers easily, they will mostly stagger lock her and bleed her to death too.
