Elden Ring

Still in the first are of the map. Getting 30 min a day to play sucks. Is there some lore for the summon outside the lion boss? Boss was cool. Sad it ended quick.

@RunningFromFat I highly recommend getting the bloodhound fang which you can get in the first 5-10 mins of playing the game, very begonner friendly. You use an r2 attack and follow it up with an l2.

You can use this all the way into the dlc.

Another option is grabbing a glintstone staff dropped by a mob also with 5 mins of playing the game which does significant more damage then anything early. Magic is also very strong in the base game but far more difficult then just using one weapon.
Is that a dex weapon? I prefer strength weapons, especially 2handers. I am not a complete beginner, just a returning souls player.

Bloodhound fang is actually a STR+Dex. it can be played as either. its one of the most fun weapons and you can buff the blade which you usually cant do on a somber weapon. you can B-Line and get upgrade materials immediately if you do the castle skip. Its actually really solid. Oh you can also 2 hand it.

Nothing is stopping you from changing from it to something else. My favourite weapons are the greatsword (big str requirement) and starfists

Very true, it will literally carry you to end-game and DLC. Besides you can enchant with Blood Flame, Black Flame, Electrify Armament, Poison Armament and Holy damage iirc.

Yes. Only somber weapon that's so versatile. And it does alot of poise damage with the full ash of war.

I completed all remembrance bosses and now doing all the stuff I missed with guides. Going to do an only strength playthrough when I am done, I don't like ng+ the fun for me is through leveling and being close to losing each battle.

Final boss of the DLC took about 40 mins and there was a skill issue from me but like everything in Elden ring more damage trumps skill. Took another 30mins collecting all the stuff I needed to break the game and lightning perfumed him in 6 shots to beat the game.

How hard is this DLC for you?

On my str/faith build it seems rather easy so far. I started the dlc at 171 but I did run around a lot exploring before actually playing it. Or its just the super relaxed pace I'm applying and no self restrictions so anything goes at any stage on 1st run.

Basically I have:

Weapons
2x Maliketh black blade (dual wield)
Hand ballista, rapid firing cross bow and one of the new great bows

Armor
Radahns armor set excl. its helmet + mini bear boss dlc headset

Trinkets
Weight reduction (pot thing), Erdtree's Favor +2, jumping attack boost, skill boost (jar piece)

Incantation
Basic buffs and few offensives like red dragon gliave and throwable lighting spear

...I suppose I'll cry a bit more once I do the second run with one of my more squishy classes like my spell caster with self restriction/handicaps.

Are you talking about this one?

I currently have the talisman that increases attributes + levelling up strength to try this weapon out.

I'm still in the early game ( just entered castle after Margit but cleared most of Limgrave ) and I'm using Ash of determination. I like the extra damage but do you think I should swap it out? I'm not a fan of bleed procs etc so I think this AoW suits me.

No the "greatsword" it's the one from berzerk. It's great because it's a regular weapon so you can change ashes of War and give it affinities like frost and bleed

It's a good ash if you understand and use the ash. If you not struggling too hard and enjoying it stick with it

Started tough a bit, hit a boss or two maybe i shouldnt have. then it middled out. and got reasonably easy end game.. Until last boss. im struggling ALOT. like malenia solo levels of alot.

Lvl 190
Starfists Cold
Full NPC armour you get late game with 100 poise.
Axe talisman. golden braid talisman (holy negation). Draggoncrest shield
Stonebarb cracked tear (poise) and damage negation over time tear (not the big bubble)

I dont summon NPCs, players or use spirit ashes.

I consistently get the boss to ph2 . even no hit. but man the BS you deal with PH2 is annoying me. Starfist obviously has challenging range issues. but going to stick to it.

Thoroughly enjoying it though. No idea how im going to LVL 1 this

Make sure to speak to Alexander and progress his story before you get to far. He has the best talisman in the game for damage.

I would go so far as watch a guide for his first 2 locations then you can mess around a lot before his third location.

I thought the attribute talisman would be tier 1. It's insane IMO.

Started with a lvl150 arcane/occult build (not bleed focused) and switched up weapons to the great katana+dry leaf arts for most of the DLC.

On the last boss at the moment and beside him and maybe one other I can't say I really struggled too much with the bosses.

Yes, the DLC is overall significantly harder, but not to the degree that people are making it out to be.

Having said that the 2 bosses referred to above have some really poor design choices and give an artificial hardness to the fight that doesnt feel rewarding when you finally overcome it.

There is a vast difference between your 1st run and your 7th+ run, hence the initial complaints.

A so so boss becomes much harder when it has 3 times its health and hits twice as hard.
