The Centre for Infectious Diseases Epidemiology & Research (CIDER) in the School of Public Health and Family
Medicine is a large, dynamic research group with more than 80 staff and an annual budget of >R30 million.
The Centre seeks to appoint a Project Coordinator on a full-time one-year contract in support of its technical
assistance role to the National Department of Health. The main purpose of this position is two-fold; to develop
self-learning videos to complement the TIER.Net and EKAPA software products and to assist the software
development team with quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
eLearning Video Development
Development of traditional training materials (user guides, slide presentations, exercises, excel audit
tools) based on pilot implementation
Software quality assurance
Develop and provide training workshops
Administration
Requirements:
4 year degree in health, information or computer science or relevant field
A valid driver’s license
2 years or more experience developing eLearning videos
2 years or more experience in specifying, developing or testing software
Strong written and verbal communication in English
Advantageous:
A master’s degree
Captivate experience
Experience in the public health sector
Experience developing traditional training materials and/ or training experience
One-year fixed term contract appointed on PASS Staff conditions. The annual cost of employment is between
R311 821 and R366 848. The post is located in an academic environment which is supportive of further training
and professional development.
