Hey guys

The heater in my 2002 Ford Fiesta is stuffed. The radiator for it is apparently clogged and will be a pain to unclog/replace.

Any electric solutions you can recommend?

Thanks

Can't you flush it. There is a tap that control water flow to it. a Old mechanic should be able to fix it.

Forget about electric heating, although some car seats is heated that way.

The onlyvreason you have been told it is a pain or difficult is because of incompetence and a lack of skill in the place you spoke to.
You might however have to accept that your car will be out of action for up to 3 days.

Electric heater.

Poofters.

You make your passenger hold this:

Diesel heaters are the alternative used in campers but will cost more than your heater radiator repair.

The heater rad is either under the rain tray thingy or in the dash.
Couldn’t find one for my father in law’s Pajero and was able to get one made to spec for a little over a grand, so they aren’t expensive, just time consuming to replace.

Here, looks easy peasy, lemon squeezy, get your hands dirty and fix it yourself. Looks like the valve failure is a known problem.

How does the car not overheat with a clogged heater core? Is it not supposed to be the natural path for coolant to go through?
Yes on my daughter's Corsa, when the heater core failed, we bypassed it and that resulted in an increase in running temperature of about 2 deg C. There was no control valve to stop coolant circulation. What was available is just blocking air circulation through the heater core.
A truly stupid idea on the part of the manufacturers.

nope - my heater is permanently closed - car works fine - it's not that cold in SA

In the winter rainfall areas a heater and demister is necessary for driving in the cold and wet. Same with a car parked outside overnight. You don't want to be half-blind on a foggy morning...

Edit: I grew up in the 1970s, and know all about crappy cars...

rear window has a demister built in
aircon blower takes care of front windscreen
car parks in it's own garage
I like the cold (sex & soup) weather - only when outside temp drops to below 10 degrees then I'll wear a jacket

Try a trip in July through the Karoo at 03:00 in the morning. That will change your mind guaranteed.

Two years ago, when we passed Hanover, the outside temperature dropped to -5 Deg C.

You could get the same thing a lot cheaper from Aliexpress or Banggood.
