Im not sure if this is the right forum, but people seem more clued up here.
Im curious if such things as pool pump timers can have an effect on cell phone and tv signal?
I have one outside my bedroom and my tv and cell signal is very bad, but in the rest of the house it is fine..Just curious

I've had interference on my speakers from the electric wire outside (when it touches something and "ticks" every second or so).

what kind of steps the you take to test this? meaning have you ever tried switching of a few things and seeing if anything improves??

Well for example the tv in the lounge has perfect signal from the ariel on the roof, it splits and comes to my tv which has very poor signal
The lounge i get HSDPA and in my room a low signalled edge
Havent turned anything off yet, will try it

Very unlikely.

With HSDPA you get blindspots where the architecture etc is blocking it. Either move the HSDPA device or get an external antenna.

Ok that is understandable, but then in the case of the tv signal?

I have bad signal in my room and excellent signal in the room next door (no building-obstruction difference) and there are no electrical/electronic means of interference. So sometimes you just have it bad.
