Anybody know which hobby shops have 12v electrical motor kits which you can build yourself?

Ooklets are interested, want to have them build their own engines.

I had to read the article to figure out how the commutation worked. Nail varnish isn't going to last very long though.
A commutator is easy enough to build and you end up with a motor which can do a little bit more than just manage to spin itself.
I built a four pole motor for a school project similar to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgyzErdgQss but two pole is easier to explain to the more technically challenged.
