Electric Razor

yep, 4 blades a year and no issues.

People tend to seriously overdo blade replacement (used to as well till my dad told me I am doing it wrong).

I don't use shaving cream and that may also be why my blades last so long, the stuff gunks blades up like crazy and glycerine soap works about 10X better.

4 blades a year and no shaving cream! :wtf:

Hellboy, is that you?

Shaving cream is useless rubbish. Try glycerine soap for a week and you will see exactly what I mean. Saves smoother, closer, better and with less irritation or rashing. Blades last longer and you don't pay an arm and a leg for foam.

Where do you get glycerin soap? What is it called?

Ok, but you do use something at least. For second there I thought you were using 12 month old blades with no lube :p

So a slippery water based lubricant type substance works much better than shaving cream.
How then, will KY Jelly work on the face.Has anyone tried it?

I'm lucky in that may dad has a soap factory but you can buy glycerine soap (bars) for about R15 at just about any pick n pay, clicks, woolies, edgars etc.

LOL, no idea. I know my dad makes a glycerine based oil with (among other things) tea tree extract in specifically for shaving. Does not even foam up and works beautifully.

Shaving cream is the result of cut throats and should not even be a part of modern society.

Those old school blades also work very well & are super cheap. The one on the far left:

Plus one can change the blades weekly since they cost very little. Horrible though if one has acne.
