Elitehost down?

Things seemed to have improved. Hope the general speed of Elitehost can improve in the future, much slower than my Hetzner.

Elitehost site is down :/

We had the international traffic block removed this morning as the main website was one of the targets of their attack. This caused the load/ connections to increase on the server, we temporarily took it down to resolve issues. Our website is now online.

I stand corrected, but I hear an SSD-based cloud network is in the works...

Surely CloudFlare should be stopping the attacks? Maybe the attacker knows the actual IP address of the web server.

Our SSD based cloud has been running for over a year now, we are currently provisioning new shared and reseller signups on our cloud. We have been migrating existing servers into the cloud, this is a huge process, once completed we will launch it on our website.

The core network uses Juniper routing/network equipment.

CloudFlare is doing a great job of blocking attempts made to the websites directy. The attacker definitely has our IP ranges and has been attacking different IPs at multiple locations even some of our servers in the US. Multiple different attack vectors are being used.

Who you piss off?

Cloudflare bypasses it's proxy when a site gets DDoSed I have talked about it in the mybb thread.

The free Cloudflare package is absolutely not for DDoSing protection it's simply for cache purposes and they will route traffic directly to the server IP bypassing their proxy.

The paid Cloudflare also routes directly to a site of the attacks are too common. You can read it everywhere on the Internet.

I mean don't take my word for it just look around and see it in real life currently

They attacked JHB and US servers again :( The DDoS was detected and mitigated in both locations. There may be some international connectivity issues to our JHB servers.

Don't you think it's time you contact mybb and do an investigation and write up a article on who is behind this?

Clearly this is not a once off odd script kiddie squad.

You guys have been beaten and out skilled now for weeks on end. Surely something else is up regarding this sudden non stop DDoSing

Yeah, let's get MyBB's team of crack investigative journalists on the case. I think they're going to have to work in shifts to solve this one.

And the status page says "Access Denied"...

Anyone else experiencing issues with Elite Host again? No communication from Elite Host themselves - Twitter not updated since 31/3, Network Status page on website not working, nor their blog, and also nothing on this thread since 02/04. Communication goes a long way to keeping customers somewhat happy.

Hi chris_meier,

Apologies for this we launched a new status page and are working with the provider to try resolve the "Access Denied" issue. It was likely hit by a DDoS as well (judging by the number of requests to our main website) causing them to block access. Our website and client area are currently working via CloudFlare, we are seeing some issues due to international traffic being degraded. This is a paid CloudFlare Plan with WAF enabled. CloudFlare has cached over 90 million request to our website in the past few days but still passed just under 1 million request to our web servers.

The attacks on our network are completely out of our control. We are working as hard a possible to minimise the impact of these issues. We are monitoring the network closely and are actively mitigating attacks as they occur.

As of yesterday afternoon we were still receiving DDoS traffic. Network traffic looks better this morning with no attacks detected yet. We are now working on resolving the issues with the status page and getting an email our to all clients.

Thank to all clients for your patience and understanding during this time.

+1
Although, maybe we might just discover something we didn't want to know ;)
Elite, last chance, have you guys upset the Guptas or someone recently?
