Ellies Cube vs Gizzu Portable

I bought the Gizzu and got it delivered yesterday morning. I'm using now for the first time proper to power 2 x 24" Dell monitors since power went of at 12, so so far it has been running for 1 hour and 19 minutes and it has 90% battery left and says it can keep going for 39 more hours.

Same one you linked to. It's a nice little unit and I'll be taking it on our road trip/safari in a couple of weeks as well. Comes with a 12V car charger thing too so I'm pretty happy with it.

No.

1 cycle = 100%->0%->100%

It is longer Acid = 250

Problem is most power stations use 18650 that is not the best idea when it comes to daily 2-3 times charge.

The Gizzu 296Wh says:

The device is recommended to be used as a Power Station; not as an always-on, pass-through solution. It is not recommended to use the device while charging or to leave it constantly plugged into the mains, as this can cause battery degradation.

I have an extension tray of plugs for my workstation. I removed the two monitor plugs from it and put them on a new lead with a double adaptor head. So when Eskom is up I plug that lead into the extension tray, when it is down I unplug from the extension tray and plug into the Gizzu.

And FYI, after 2 hours 20 minutes of loadshedding the battery percentage read 71% still left after drawing a fairly constant 32W to keep the two monitors running. Once it charges back to 100% I guess I'll unplug from the mains until next time.

Kinda hard to keep the 230V mains switched on when the reason we are buying these things in the first place is that they are in fact switched off

Why not unplug it when the power comes back on and then use it again until it runs close to 0% rather than recharging immediately?

I think I'd rather just keep it topped up with these 4 and a half hour slots becoming more frequent just now. Losing my monitors when the power goes off is seriously annoying

Nice. I've easily been getting through the loadshedding periods with my two monitors attached. This morning was about 2 hours and still had 74% left with a constant draw of 32-33 watts.
