Hi all,
I have frustrating issue with my home email ( xxxx@telkomsa.net on Outlook 2010). I cant seem to send mails to anyone other than my Gmail address on my iPad. I have tried sending stuff to my work mail, and to my kids in New Zealand, and nothing comes through.

My line is with Telscum and Vox is my ISP and I have re-done all the settings and the test mail that Outlook sends "itself" goes through with no problem.

Any hints/ tips??
Cheers!

set outgoing to same details as incoming.
see under more details.
then select outgoing to use same login details as incoming
change outgoing port from 25 to 587.

should then work no mattter whom your isp. vox, mweb. afrihost etc,

It just seems weird that it goes through to my Gmail and my own Telkom address just fine...

Try with smtp.saix.net, that's what I generally use for Telkom.

VOX is likely the problem. Setting your smtp server to authenticate with normal password should bypass any isp issues but if it doesn't then you should use the isp's smtp. Ask them if they have a open smtp you can use.

Nah the problem is that the OP is using Telkom email when they should use a Gmail account. Then you will never have issues.

Ok...the plot thickens!
I was messing around with it last night, and was chatting to our work IT guy at the same time. I was sending him mails to his home (Mweb) address no problem...Sent to my brother in Pinetown to his Afrihost and Telkomsa address.. they went through, again, no issues sending to my Gmail and Hotmail addresses, but I cannot send anything to my work email address or to my work colleagues in New Zealand! I'm going to try other colleagues in Germany, where our head office is and to one of our other subsidiaries in Oz or the UK, but will only know the outcome on Monday.
Perhaps this a company server issue? I've heard rumblings about a blacklisted address? Its just strange that I can send mails to my work address from my Gmail and Hotmail accounts with no problem, because those are usually deemed "dodgy mails.

So you just cannot send to your works domain? It's most likely being dropped, speak to your IT Dept. it's obviously not a configuration issue on your side, as you can mail other people.
