Emails Corrupted in Outlook Express

I've noticed manyof my emails/ attachments getting corrupted after a few days in OE. Attachments that could open now are corrupted or text appears as gibberish (lots of symbols and blocks).
I've run antivirus and spyware- no problems.
What could be wrong?

I had that problem recently when I was using ESET Antivirus.
Tried everything to fix it.
Eventually switching to another antivirus program sorted the problem out.
What antivirus program are you running?

Don't use a antivirus client that scans your mail or disable that functionality if possible. A mate had a similar issue a while back and some searching lead me to some MS blog where one of their devs advised against antivirus mail scanning. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx#EOAAC

While you are at it install the new version of Express called Windows Live Mail, uses a newer & better mailbox database structure or whatever it's called. http://download.live.com/wlmail

yes using Nod32..Disabled Email protection.. will see how it goes.

There's your problem!
We switched to Kaspersky Internet Security and things have been fine since.

My father tried WL Mail, it drove him nuts because it's just too different to Outlook Express.
Title bar sizes etc. aren't really customizable. He's quite attached to his OE.
