I've been getting at least two emails EVERY DAY from A DIFFERENT ADDRESS EVERYTIME, advertising various drugs (legal) e.g. viagra and I can't get these fscking emails to stop! I don't want to create a rule in my Outlook to block these emails cause I also use my account via webmail :( None of these emails offer an Unsubscribe option. Does anyone kno how I could get them to stop sending this crap (often quite large emails!!) to me?

Are you actually with webmail or do you use your account via webmail? Webmail is notorious for this type of spam and as far as I can see there's not a hell of a lot you can do.

Beyond creating a rule, if there's no unsubscribe link at the bottom of the letter, you can always get hold of your service provider and ask them to block these sorts of things on their side.

There are also several software solutions for spam which have grown sufficiently complex to recognise a huge amount of spellings for viagra. Search for "spam" at http://www.tucows.saix.net

I also get "medical" spam email reguarly - different address each time. I use ananzi.

I don't bother reading them anymore since they probably have a embedded image which tells them that someone is actually reading the emails - hence even more spam.

ye i get the same, Cialis, vIAGRA ......... all promotions for meds and hormone growth.
it is very irritating and i dont recall signing up for a h4rd0n newsletter:)
so i added rules in OE to tell OE TO delete from server, it has helped a great deal by cutting down the spam to about 25% of what it was.

Thats nothing lol I've been getting emails from profesors saying i can get a varsity degree without any exams :P

MailWasher http://www.firetrust.com/ comes in handy. It has the ability to "bounce" mail with mail-recipient-not-known-at-this-address message. Usually stops ’em right in their tracks.

After a month or so, hardly any spam – after a year, nothing, zip, zero…

Keep Well

Even if they do have an Unsubscribe option and/or a real reply ID, it is advisable not to use it. Because it tells the spammer that the mail ID is active and in use by a person. And then the spammers will come in hordes!

Try incredimail @ incredimail.com there is a free version an a paid one, it has (in the paid version)a white and black list i.e. white list only those people that you want to receive mail from, black list all the spam goes tata

I also use to keep getting those E-Mails...Now I use Mailwasher excellent Program...I have checked them for viruses but not found any...Lately I have not recieved any E-Mails ... I assume that someone has reported it to SpamCop...

How to avoid spam

I was so chuffed with MailWasher I bought 5 copies for various people - recently they sent me a complimentary copy of MailWasher Pro :)

The whole spam problem has changed significantly. 95% of spam is already deleted by the ISP. If an ISP does not offer spam protection, they will loose customers, so they provide it by default. Maybe owners of free E-mail accounts are not so lucky.

One thing that I have observed is that the more junk you send, the more you receive. Users on my network who send jokes and junk receive the majority of the spam. If you recieve junk, like jokes, just ask the sender to exclude you from it next time. Refer them to http://www.breakthechain.org/reasons.html

Cheers,
