Ematic vs Telkom LIT Android TV Box?

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 2?
I would just skip both and get a Mi Box-S but I need optical audio-out and both appear to have.

Another question, if you are using the audio optical out to a DAC can you still control the volume via the remote?
I want to connect an amp to the DAC but still be able to control the volume via the media players remote
 
Your AMP will handle the audio volume. The SPDIF on the Mi-Box is not a standard one, it's more like 3.5 audio jack.

The SD card slot on the Lit supports up to 32GB, and is bigger ( think 132GB )on the Ematic from what I have read in the past, and the Ematic ships with Android 9 now. No idea about audio stuff.

I didn't realise the Mi-Box 3.5mm audio output doubled up as a Spdif output, are you sure about that one?

Because wired Spdif will also work for me.

Yep but u need a funky cable. And in my instance i could only ever get stereo from it
 
As a side note on needing optical, i hear you. The LIT box works perfectly well for this. I ended up using my xbox1 s for this, just less cables in my case

Ah ok it's one of those combo ports, you stick an optical with a long probe at the end to use the optical out?

So I'm assuming it's not a bitstream output, do you know what sample rate it outputs and whether you can set the rate in settings?

Stereo is good for me.

No its an actual 3.5mm jack cable

I thought the Lit box had an extra USB port or 2 compared to the Ematic?
