DID THEY PAY THEIR SABC LICENSES?

See sadly they'll do what they want :( 1000MW is just a band aid

They've announced a total of 8 projects totaling 1,845MW and 3 more projects totaling 150MW still being checked. They are a mix of technologies but clearly the ships are the biggest contributor.

2GW would help but we need another 4 to really break even.

Can someone balance me on this one, how is it corrupt?

As discussed earlier in the thread, it seems like a preference has been shown to the 3 powerships which have little or no long term jobs or opportunities and are indeed a sticking plaster.

They made some more announcements including the lifting of the 50MW IPP cap and some more programmes coming, but it was hard to hear what Mantashe was saying so I'll need to wait for the press release.

Thanks, It does look like the other bidders did not stand a chance.

There we go, all 3 Karpower ships selected. Corrupt bastards.

FFS...

I know we need the power and all that, but I really hope this shyte is challenged in court and thrown the fsck out for the bullshyte that it is.

We "knew" they had it a couple of weeks ago, and the special dispensations afforded dating back to last year seem to point to a lot of bending over backwards to accommodate them.
