The only thing I'm deaf from is that pyrotechnic "bang" which went off about 3 times.

I was at the front of general standing right by the fence, so those speakers were way behind me.

Everytime I think "wouldn't seated tickets be nice", so I don't have stand all day and fight off people who try push there way through. But everytime I hear people complain about that sound they get from the seated area.

There was a light drizzle stopping and starting the whole afternoon but that ended after that Action Bronson guy and was dry during Eminems show, Jack Parrow was pretty good.

I must say, much better experienced getting in (EDIT: when some of the idiotic security could eventually point us to a right gate, we found a mostly unused gate on the R24ish side to get in with) and out of Ellis Park than with Bon Jovi at FNB.

Parking always seems to be an issue there. They should send a gautrain in that direction - whatever they do for soccer city :)

It was enjoyable but I think I'm spoiled by my home theatre and the sound wasn't great. They could have at least turned up his mic. I can't shake the feeling that for the total cost of the evening I could have gone out for an awesome dinner and enjoyed a concert DVD/BR at home and still had change.
 
I agree. There's always the vibe of course but when you weigh up the schlepp it's not worth going if the organisers haven't done their bit.

You pay for something and it's sub standard :mad:

I agree 100%. Eventually went to stand at back of stadium in the middle and sound was much better than seated on side.

I understand how you feel. I had an awesome time, but I was so excited for this concert and the sound really burst my bubble a little. Was great instead of epic

Indeed. It was not cheap even as concerts go these days. That schlep is why I won't bother unless it's an artist I REALLY like but I think all of the ones where I'd consider it "worth it" have been already.

I hate to use this term, but obviously you're not a real hip-hop fan or you would have known who Action Bronson is (or maybe try find out his proper name). And I really thought Action Bronson's set was really good, except he didn't perform Birds on a Wire.

The only thing which really makes me upset about the concert prices nowadays is that you still have to put out so much money for parking or park n ride. Parking at any of these events is R120+ and park n ride is R150+.

Yes. I was actually discussing the same thing on Reddit some weeks ago and people actually agreed with me. With Eminem you get people who like Eminem but don't really know the art behind hip-hop or why Eminem is considered a lyrical genius, the type of person that goes "I can't stand rap because all the do is talk about money & b**ch*s, but that Eminem guy is really good". Eminem has said this many times as well but I guess this passes over many peoples heads. I ain't mad at people, I actually try and encourage people into why I love certain rappers and the aspects of hip-hop. I was even able to get a friend of my into Bronson this week. But the kind of things were people say someone sucks without really looking into them is something I see way to often when it comes to rap.

On a side note: I wish someone ran up on stage during the Action Bronson set, that would have been a site to see.
