Dubai - An Ethiopian maid struck back at her allegedly abusive employer in Dubai, slicing off the Emirati man's penis, the 7DAYS daily on Wednesday quoted the Emirate's police as saying.

Police responded to a call from the man and "found him bleeding badly. His housemaid had chopped off his private parts using a knife", 7DAYS quoted a Dubai police official as saying of the attack on Monday.

"She claimed the man used to abuse and harass her. On the day of the incident, she claims he asked her to give him a massage. She got angry, went to the kitchen to get a knife and attacked him," the official said.

The maid has been charged with assault, the paper said, while the Emirati man is recovering in hospital. It was not clear if his severed member had been re-attached.

The UAE and other Gulf countries have come in for repeated criticism from human rights groups over their treatment of millions of foreign workers, mostly Asians.

Rights groups and activists have reported various cases of employers torturing maids in neighbouring Saudi Arabia.

The watchdogs have also sharply criticised the sponsorship system, still in force in most Gulf states, by which workers must be sponsored by their employer and which has been likened to modern-day slavery.

Shame, gotta feel for the dude, loosing his manhood and all.... wonder if they sowed it back on? anyway this raises the question of prior abuse, i reckon this women would have to have been pushed quite far to snap like this, would not be surprised if this maid has suffered for years at the hands of her employer/s, the way arabs treat these imported maids generally is quite shocking, nothing short of modern day slavery.
 
Yeah its a lose lose scenario but I'm siding with the maid on this one.
 
Those arabs treat non-muslims like slaves. Situation is really shocking over there.

She will probably have some retribution coming her way courtesy of the justice system.

Agreed, the treatment of their immigrant workers is awful. Unfortunately that's one negative side to not having unions.

Good on the maid!
I have to correct you there: they treat the muslims like slaves too. If you come from anywhere besides America and UAE you are treated like crap. Its only until you open your mouth, speak english and fight back till they change thier view of you. And their justice system is a joke. If an Emirate smashes into you... guess who gets locked up?

Absolutely 100% correct. Asians get treated so badly there. The locals are too damn lazy to do their own jobs.

A British tourist was beaten to death by officers in a Dubai police station after being arrested for swearing, it was claimed yesterday.
Lee Bradley Brown, 39, was on holiday at a £1,000-a-night hotel in the Arab state when he was thrown into a filthy cell.
Police sources say he was ‘badly beaten up’ by a group of police officers, leaving him unconscious on the floor.
Inmates told how they watched officers bundle him into a body-bag and drag him out of the building.
During Mr Brown’s six days in Bur Dubai police station, guards refused to give him enough food and water and did not let him see a lawyer, it is alleged.
His sister learned about the attack when she received a phone call from an inmate on Sunday, claiming her brother had been beaten.
The prisoner found her phone number on a photocopy of her brother’s passport which had been left behind in the cell.
She contacted the British Embassy in Dubai, and on Monday an official was sent to visit Mr Brown at the police station.
But the official was turned away by an officer who claimed Mr Brown did not want to see him and had ‘declined consular assistance’.
His sister, who did not want to be named, received another phone call from the inmate saying he had seen her brother’s body being taken out in a body-bag.
A source told the Daily Mail last night: ‘He suffered a really bad beating which must have caused some terrible internal injuries.
‘The poor bloke stood no chance at all. At one stage he was thrown against the concrete wall of a cell and landed badly.
‘Then the guards tried to hush it up and pretend nothing had happened.’

Some Arabs today i think are naturally stupid.Some of them are as stupid as Americans.
