I dunno where else to put this, and I won't be able to work for the rest of the day cos I'm laughing tooo much.

Try go to www.enatis.com guys...

All I get is an account suspended notice.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ok that was a very temporary down then...

lasted for about 20mins...

*sulk* I was having a good laugh

This is the official web site of the South African National Traffic Information System. The system is used amongst others as the official register of licensed vehicles and drivers in South Africa. This site provides information about the system, procedures and where to go to perform transactions.

The purpose of this website is to provide information about the eNaTIS. TRANSACTIONS ON eNaTIS FROM THIS SITE cannot be performed at this stage and no database connection with the eNaTIS exist from this site.

What does that mean. Mebbe I'm just tired but that is a little confusing.

hold on to your seats boys. this thing can do 18 transactions / sec...

Are there still long cues at the licencing centers or not? Does anyone know? My licence is up for renewal, and i don't wanna spend the whole day there.

I am a bit supprised that they are so excited about 18 transactions per second. I am used to building systems that perform more then that and the systems I worked with definitely cost a lot less then R400 million.

Since 8 May 2007, the eNaTIS has been available 100% during extended business hours. The system hours are 6am to 9pm on week days and 6am to 2pm on Saturdays
really? interesting

I went to Hill Starr (Cape Town) last Friday afternoon to renew a drivers and an official there suggested that if I didn't want to wait 4 hours iorlonger, that I should come in at 07:30. The reason given was that eNatis runs so slowly that they can't get through their workload.

Anyone know if these guys are part of the strike starting on Friday?

I was at Centurion licencing centre yesterday (third attempt) and got lucky!!

Went there at 07h20 and got helped at 09h30. The eNatis system is SO slow - did my eye-test in less than a minute, but when I went over to the counter to pay for my new licence and get issued with my temp licence, I waited for 15 minutes.

I asked the guy behind the counter how he's experiencing eNatis and he told me that he can't work - he must constantly wait for the system to catch up.

When I walked out with my papers in my hand, the que stretched all the way to the parking area and people glanced at my papers, with tears in their eyes.

I seriously think they are telling lies to the public when they say that things are moving faster - I just see the opposite happening.

Look, Joomla is awesome but I can't help wondering what they paid the installer for the Joomla installation on http://www.enatis.com/?
And what the rest of the system runs on...

You really think they paid somebody? They could have used any one of a thousand free themes for Joomla, but no, they had to go with the default. Better safe than sorry I suppose, at least they know it works.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a easy pay day!
Too those who doesn't know Joomla as a FREE content management system.

And how do you know that the entire ENATIS system is built on Joomla? As far as I know, just their crappy dysfunctional website is built on Joomla.
