Encrypt a hard drive or folders

TrueCrypt for a whole drive/partition is an excellent option. Though if you just want to protect some data like a file or folder, which may be the better option as locking the company or owner out of their PC could cost you your job or cause trouble at the least, use something like WinRAR and use "Store" for compression and encrypt file names and use a strong long password (UPPERCASE + lowercase + numbers + other characters such as &@#) and you can consider it safe.

I have to say though, whatever you do or store on a work PC should not be considered private, I'm all for privacy but storing your private "document" in someone else's "case" (without their permission) and having a fit when they look at it is silly.

you don't have a personal PC? while another user expressed the view you do not want the legalities, be advised that any kind of encryption could (depending on your work contract), lead to disciplinary action which could lead to you being dismissed. especially for the type of material you describe.

get a usb stick/external hard drive and MOVE the stuff. Then look for a program that does military style wiping given that your boss might have seen your material already. Then pray.

you may actually find your employer's terms of your internet and computer equipment usage policy state something along the lines that while they may allow you to do some private stuff, it does not mean they forego their rights with respect to not allowing you to use their equipment/internet for private use. and you have probably signed your agreement to this as well.
 
For sure, I merely pointed out that we all sometimes store sensitive private info, even if it aint p0rn, on our office pc's/laptops. In fact I sometimes find it quite annoying transferring data between home and work laptops, and therefore only do a transfer like once a week.

Also how often are you asked for a damn flash to use during a presentation? Happens all the time to me.
 
true crypt also allows you to encrypt, then depending on the password given, will show the "wrong data", giving u a bit of an out should you be asked to decrypt.
