Engine Mount: Do you think it should fall under warranty?

Wear and tear is covered provided it is outside of spec. If it's "normal" to be worn by a certain time or mileage. You way under. You actually have an argument

But its an "engine" warranty? The engine still functions as an engine if on the floor.

Not against OP though, hope he wins the argument.

What the hell

Just called the company that underwrites the insurance and the guy told me there were NO submissions under my policy ID...

On my Hyundai, engine mounts were replaced free of charge under warrantee.

A manufacturer's warranty is very different from an extended warranty. The first includes mandatory recalls, PR, and factory defects. The second is an insurance contract, with a lengthy list of exclusions, and zero goodwill.

P.S. The engine mounts on my Toyota Camry lasted 21 years. I'm pretty sure that is outside the waranty...

Pretty sure if my engine falls out of the engine bay, it will lead to mechanical failure.

The guy at the company that underwrites my insurance said that it mimics the ford warranty.

AFAIK Ford does cover engine mounts, so if not 100% off, they should cover 50% of it?

Yet the dealership has STILL NOT submitted a claim under my policy ID

I once read a clause that says if a covered part fails as a result of a part that is not covered, then the covered part is no longer covered.

say that 3 times fast please?
I would argue against this rule.
If my diff is not covered, but my propshaft is, then diff locks up, propshaft is twisted off. they will not pay for the uncovered diff, but they need to pay for the propshaft. it is covered, end of story, otherwise lot of these plans are useless. When somethign breaks in a car, it is usually a chain of events that happens. All they have to say is that the chain of events is these 9 breakages, so we cover the R20 000 pistons, and the 5000 Bearing, but we do not cover the R5 bolt holding it together, and we know that bolt will go. and that is the only way the other stuff will break. So in theory, you have a R25 000 coverage, worth R0.
It sux...

Yeah. I have never had faith in aftermarket warranties, it's one big scam.

They honored your claim, and you're still complaining? If I were you, I'd open a bottle of DOCG Prosecco and just quietly sip it whilst sitting fireside.
