This is the straw that breakth the camels back.Enough now mtn stop showing off your excellent service.I been trying for 2 weeks to get hold of a human being.I emailed, no one is answering and no freakin one is calling me back.
I have a freakin simple request,I have a dual sim card phone,The one is telkom and forced to have mtn in the other.
Alli want is someone to speak to t ogive me the network unlock code when i put in a telkom sim.Just the network unlock code, gawd damn can a company really be that freakin cheap to try there best to not let humans speak to you.
I am disgusted at this ,I WILL NEVER EVER GO WITH MTN EVER IN MY LIVING LIFE.

i AM GONNA MAKE IT MY DUTY TO to pi77 on this company on all social media channels .Never in my days have i seen this tactics

Hiya,

Not sure what process you have been following, but I made some enquiries with colleagues, and they advised this to me:

Please dial *135# and select option 0 for more options, then select option 8 to Request Device Network Unlock.

If the above gives an error, please use the link below:

https://directunlocks.com/en_gb/unlock-phone-mtn.

I hope this helps man

I tried that last week already and just gave up when it says invalid selection.ieam I tried everything then it tells me about WhatsApp and I do the WhatsApp thing and still met with selections and no human to speak to no matter what......I am so angry at how this company gives the run around and no human in site.

Will try that second opinion thanks man

visiting a MTN shop no help?

tried to do a sim swap and it was a nightmare apparently only 5 MTN shops in the entire WC can swap sim cards the right way,
also was given quite a run around by them,

How much does that website charge to unlock devices?

Ah I see...
What device did you take, on what package, and how heavily were you subsidized? That's generally the only time that devices are network-locked.
My side line business is in android and iphone software repairs and upgrades and modding.A cellphone shop gave me a brand new redmi 11 pro for repairs as it was hard bricked.I repaired it for this little shop and they did not want to pay the repair cost, so i told them i will keep the phone and they agreed as they do not want it back as its oldish and it was not worth the repair cost.
SO thinking i can get my money back for time wasting i decided i am gonna sell it ,this is where i tested the networks. Then mtn unlock code came up.
I do alot of phone unlocking myself when i repair devices but this is SA network so i am screwed.I can bypass the lock one time only but when i reboot its back for sim unlock code.

Yeah, I can't go into the legalities of what you do because I don't know enough about it, but the chap who gave you the phone to repair got more than fairly subsidized, hence the network lock. I'm sorry, but I don't see how this is MTN's fault.
