Entry level car service

And get rid of the warranty while you are at it.

Being a Hyundai it has a 5-7 year warranty and likely plenty of that remaining.

Obviously once that’s gone, skip the dealer.
The law has changed. So long as it is a RMI accredited workshop doing the work, you keep your warranty.

Just recently had a 75000km service done for a Hyundai Creta at Hyundai dealership and the total came to R1355.49. Apparently this was just a topup service. Creta has a 5 year 90000km service warranty.

I think things start getting very expensive just when you need to pay out of your pocket for a service.

Hi all,
Just getting a feeler here as not very car savvy, is 5k normal for a major service for an entry level car(i10)? Dealership prices seem insanely high. It's the fourth/60 000km service.
My 75000 is about 2k and my 90000 is 2.6k(2018 ford figo)according to the quote Ford gave me in black and white

Oh I am fully aware of that. I have already created a spreadsheet comparing Hyundai OEM parts to aftermarket parts from Midas, Goldwagen, etc. NGK spark plugs from Hyundai - R168 excl. each whereas the same spark plug is R83 from Midas.

Post a printout of the service breakdown, R5k is a lot of money for a 60k service and they probably don’t even use iridium plugs on that vehicle.

My 75k service was R1800 and some change at Ford, for a 2018 Fiesta diesel. Took it in last week.
I got quotes from other RMI approved shops around here and it was around R1500 to R1700.

Just decided to go with Ford since the car is still under warranty till end of this year.
