Envy

im only envious of people who are handed things for nothing -- like daddy buying you a nice expensive car and pad coz he can.
if you worked for it and earned it -- im happy for you.

I'm not sure of the word - but I've felt pretty 'urgh' leaving my family lunch in the past.

My stepbrother is about 3 years older than me and when my mom married his dad 15 years ago, he was still studying. My stepfather wasn't wealthy either, having just come from a essy divorce.

Fast forward and my stepbrother is CFO of a blue chip company and my stepfather bought his 2nd Porsche last year and his 2nd property. They both achieved massive amounts in 15 years while I've been seemingly stagnant. Typing this depresses me ... ;)

So - we have a multitude of different skills on MyBB ... how about 10 of us get together and open a company to rival Dimension Data? :P

From a client perspective I don't think DD is that great a company, lots of image & less delivery.

Envy is a terrible thing. Just because I’m incredibly good looking, can leap tall buildings in a single bound, run faster than a speeding bullet and have a foot long shlong, people are envious. Go figger.

I can fart like thunder. I have seen people go green with envy and often tears come to their eyes when I show them.

Everyone gets envious, I know I do. I usually just stay away from topics that make me envious... and if I get something or do something that could make my friends envious I don't shove it in their faces like OP's friend.

This is something I struggle with.
You know that person in your group who's always last place and seemingly has the worst luck? That's me. Every time it seems like life may be cutting me a break it rips it away and laughs in my face about it.
I've come to terms with the fact that I'll always lag far behind the people in my life, that I'll never get to visit another country(or just go on a yearly holiday) and that I will never be able to really save or get a chance to improve my situation.
I'm envious of the people in my life but I try and never show it.

Maybe your friend was like me and she finally got a break. Maybe that's why she is so chuffed.

:wtf: Not to be rude but why play the defeatist? The little I have "learned" through your posts about you is that you are not of a below average intellect and thus there should be no reason for you to feel this way!

As to the OP, yes it has happened that I have felt envious, but it has never make me try and take the enjoyment from the other person. If anything it actually serves as motivation for me to achieve some of my life goals.

Without boring you with the details lets just say after 10 years of trying to dig out of an ever increasing hole its gets tiring. Being moderately intellectually capable can only take you so far. But whatever. Kyk noord en *** voort.

I have come to a point where I just keep quiet about my *acquisitions* because the last person I told burst into tears & admitted they felt like a failure because I am younger than them yet I have more than what they have.
