EOS 350D ... any good?

Not really sure that would be a great idea. Steve Gibson - creator of spinrite - was asked if his application could be used on flash memory and he said the intensity of the read/write would quickly destroy it.

I'm not familiar with spinrite, so I can't comment on that. My routine doesn't stress-test the card. All it does is put the card through a few cycles of intensive, but otherwise normal use as it would be used in the camera. Same files written to it, sequentially, until it's full, same files read from it, formatted in the camera. Taking it through five or so cycles of this should make it fail if it was going to fail anyway.

I'll cook up a script like this at some point - I'll have to test my new cards before taking them on holiday anyway - and post it here so you can see exactly what I do.
