EOS M Camera?

A couple design flaws I've come across. The first is no port for a remote trigger. It would have been great to have been able to use it as a remote camera. The second, as I discovered in the studio, is you can't disable exposure simulation in manual mode. I set the camera up for strobes and the screen remained pitch black.

On point 1, RC1 and RC6 both work with the M, point 2 is annoying, hopefully Canon will fix that bug in the next firmware update, plenty have complained about it.

I had a look at the Ir triggers the other day but they're not really up to the task for what I was hoping to do. The range is somewhat limited and line of sight.

I've installed Magic Lantern on the EOS-M and it's given it a new lease on life :) Last week I used the intervalometer to shoot a time lapse, my kid has been using my gopro for another timelapse for the past four weeks, and just this weekend I discovered you can use the audio trigger setting in conjunction with a pocket wizard for remote shooting so this camera is going to see a lot of action inside the goal when the PSL season kicks off next month! :D

Time to delve deeper into ML…

I received one of these as a gift. Installed ML exactly for it's timelapse abilities. I've yet to actually try it out in the wild, mainly because I don't have an extra tripod for it =(. Thinking of getting a gorilla pod, ideas?

I had the same problem - my tripod is so old it should be collecting a pension - so I gathered together some bits and pieces and made a clamp rig. It aint pretty but it's solid and can hold a heck of a lot more weight than what I need.

That looks impressive actually!

Thanks - I'm tempted to see just how much weight it will support but I'm not sure how I could explain any damage to the insurance company :o :D

M3 is reportedly a lot better than it's predecessors with focusing and speed. Rumour has it Canon will be releasing the M4 towards the end of the year/start of next year with proper lens support.

The most prevalent rumour at the moment is that the new EOS M will have the same sensor as the 80D. If true this will make it really interesting.
