Does it actually matter since it's just emulating ink on paper?

Thinking of upgrading from my Kobo Glo but.... I am not finding the Libra 2 to be actually superior except for slightly larger screen and double DPI and though slow my current device works fine.

So, does a 300 dpi screen for ereaders actually matter? Does it reduce eyestrain or something else useful or does it just look purdier?

Is the only real point to a better screen comics?

The DPI upgrade will make the text appear crisper. If your Kobo Glo meets your current needs I wouldn't upgrade just for the DPI bump. I'd rather wait for the Glo to give up the ghost and then upgrade to something better.

That being said I own both a Glo and Libra and the text on the Libra is definitely crisper and the device is slightly faster.

Ok and the extra inch of screen? Does it actually help or is it a "need to want" feature?

It's a nice to have, but I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference in the reading experience. My main reason for the upgrade was to get the page turn buttons. Enjoy having them. And of course just after I ordered and got the Libra they announced the Libra 2. Such is life.
