and cant connect to wow for s***. ><

any ideas?

It's not just you man. I've been getting intermittent DC's all day. Think it's this Seacom nonsense still. My ping's usually around 250ms-350ms, but the lowest it's been today is 600ms. It spikes up to almost 8000ms every few minutes. Was really frustrated, but now it disconnects from the server as soon as I log into wow. Who's your ISP?

100% sure its Seacom. I cancelled my subscription after the last Seacom issue a few months back, the frustration just killed the game for me.

Kaine, you can't log in at all, i.e. you get stuck at the connecting screen, or just after you log in you get stuck at 'Success!"?
I also use WA shaped but through a proxy, and the latencies have been all over the place for the last 10 days or so (since SEACOM, I guess). I switched to my unshaped WA account and the latencies where stable and lower, where in the past, using the shaped or unshaped via a proxy didn't make such a big difference.

I'm guessing that the 'unshaped'=ness of WA shaped for WoW has been 'switched-off' while we all pony up for SEACOM's backup service, hence the difference now between the unshaped and shaped accounts. My un-technicall thoughts on the problem.

Lastly, have you ever used or tried a proxy service? I have had the same problem where I found that since I used a proxy service (Lowerping, in this case) I can no longer connect to WoW without it using a SAIX based account, but can using an IS based account.

Hope you get it sorted.

Gus

yeah could be the proxy, you porbably just need install it again, or format your pc.

wa does not use is for that account, so you should be unaffected.

I still can't get in. After I type in my details it connects and then goes to the realm selection page, but if I click to connect to my realm it says connecting and then bombs out to the main wow page and says "you have been disconnected from the server".

Anybody else having this issue?

I got latency issues tonight and whole week on webafrica, axxess, telkom and iburst.

just checking. someone a while back did say that you can play wow on a 384k line. can that person (or someone else) confirm this please. im feeling a lot of hate and rage towards telscum that needs some sort of release here. and im on webafrica, but they dont supply these sh*tty so-called internet lines. and if you're reading this and work for telscum, know that everyone hates your company, and probably wishes you and everyone in it dies. o, and the rest of the world thinks you are a joke

<sigh> just had to disable the firewall on the stone-age router >< you can disregard parts of the above statement, which, well, that is up to you ;)

WoW works fine on 384k lines. My latency is usually (when seacom actually works) between 250ms and 350ms on my 384 line. I'm with Cybersmart.
