Error 651

I would reset the router to factory defaults for starters and reconfigure it.

this has been done before. there are paramater (sp?) type lines which show up on the router page, and Im very very nervous about messing with them as I have no idea whats cracking with them
 
feedback for anyone that might actually care still. got the cable story sorted out, fiddling in the network centre. not entirely sure what I did, but its all good now :) thanks for the words folks

Awesome! What do you mean fiddling in the network centre? On your PC?
