Probably is, but I've never bothered to find out.

I think there is local servers, but you'd have to manually set it up because the defaults are all INT servers.

On their site I can't find anything about a local server - had a quick look.

I see that is linked to .com so maybe there are no local links

through the hosts file?

No, when you edit the setup, there is a option to manually add a mirror, if you go here, you get a drop down list of servers or you can let it 'choose automatically'
If you find a local server (we can assume there is one) then you'd add it here and it would use it 'manually'

When I open Eset & go through advanced to where the update server is it offers "Choose Automatically" when I click on the drop down there are no other options. There is an option to edit the servers but all is blank so my guess is that unless you know the details before hand you can't do the local updates (if it is possible)
Not local... yes I have also searched and can't find anything about local servers. You pay so much money for Eset products and they do have offices in SA, but no local servers....
I'm a ESET Partner... Contacted them and they said there are currently no local servers but they are working on it and should be functional within a few weeks..
