Dude, investigations ended means NPA is not going to do any investigations either. There is not even going to be any investigation on any crime going forward either. Which also means no investigations FAKALL - INVESTIGATE word is banned by parliament & its dictator.

What part of this do you not understand ?
 
Headline makes it sound like an accident. A more accurate headline would be: "cANCer puts an end to Eskom corruption investigation to protect their thieving asses".
 
When a committee or a commission is set up to investigate corruption, MyBb forumites: another committee/commission! a waste of taxpayers money! nothing will come of it! why don't they arrest people! blah blah blah...

When parliament, decide to leave corruption investigations to those who are fully empowered and have all the resources to do the investigation, MyBb forumite: Yeah we want a committee! A committee is not useless anymore, the ANC is trying to hide corruption! moan, moan, moan...
 
When a crime is committed, there is no need for a commission to be set up. Lay a charge and the police do their job, justice system gets activated, SOB's end up in jail.

In any normal country that is.

Okay, how many parliamentary committees have we had and what did we get out of them? There is already Scopa in parliament tasked to deal with these things as well as other oversight committees in the relevant departments that oversee Eskom, we don't need another committee, this is just another one of the DA's political tantrums and nothing else.

It's useless because it won't have even close to the powers that Zondo had, it's just a good way for the MPs to make you think they are doing something, and most especially, a perfect opportunity for the DA to do its grandstanding.

Thinking you will get better results just because there are multiple useless investigations going on is the same as thinking that opening multiple cases will result in a better investigation or somehow make the process faster.

Can we have an Amen to that Bazalwane?

Parliamentary committees are good for oversight that pertains mostly to bad governance and lack of accountability, they can demand answers from the Eskom board and management about the performance of Eskom, but they simply cannot investigate corruption or any form of criminality, sure if they discover it in their normal course of doing their work, sure, well done but that's all there us to it, report it to the cops and let them get on with it, if the don't call the minister and the commissioner, hold them to account.

Yea you're right. The fewer eyes we have on corruption at Eskom, which doesn't exist because the minister says so, the better.

That's how we fix things.

It's the quality that matters, not the quantity. Again, it's like deploying all the SAPS, Hawks investigators on one high profile case and hoping strength in numbers will result in success.
