Eskom has declared an electricity supply emergency, and is urging customers to severely curtail usage from Tuesday onwards.

Clearly Eskom is a government department. Can never believe a word they say.

Months back they assured us that there will be no problems. Things went well through the winter with just the odd break here and there but these were mostly maintenance and not supply related, or at least that is what they told us.

Now going into the summer months where electricity usage is usually lower and they declare an emergency.

I see dark days ahead....
