Eskom knew about silo problems

They might have all the fancy titles and degrees but lack one thing.

Common sense. That is why Africa is a mess.

Why the hell can't we fight back at these idiots...

Drives me nuts that a service WE pay for, is completely out of our control in terms of forcing the supplier to do the job properly.

That R43m breakfast should be deducted from the rates we pay, the cost to fully repair this silo and conveyor should be deducted from the rates we pay (IF its true that they knew about the issue)

60% of SA keeps on voting ANC .. that free t shirt they get is worth more than the billions lost to blackouts, corruption ...

I wish I could be positive, but I can't see the silver lining with ANC killing SA..

What bothers me is that the more cases of corruption and negligence is being exposed, the more seem to surface. This suggests that those cases that are being exposed is only the tip of the iceberg. Until these individuals are dealt with harshly, this is not going to stop.

I call BS on Eskom that was unforeseen and probably why the 'crack' was really a 'collapse'.

If basic monitoring was in place, then this could have been avoided months ago.

Since Solidarity says the monitoring was in place, then we really need to know why the warnings were ignored.

And all this through a basic Google search for a complete layman who has never even thought about the structural integrity of cement before, or how it may fail or why. It would appear we have complete idiots running the show, starting from our president with his primary school education.

/rant off

The power station isn't at the coast.

The people have spoken and they're happy with this sort of behaviour, it seems. You fight back by voting for a decent party. Too bad 60 odd percent of the country are seemingly mentally deficient.

There was one old girl on the radio this morning saying that apartheid had been good for her - she learnt to do without electricity.

And some other person pointed out that Nigeria has a far larger population than we do and they manage to get by on 1/10th of the power that we generate. Makes you wonder just where it is going.
