Eskom load-shedding back after three months

Mybb please do an article in favor for making loadshedding equipment tax deductible.

Push for this.

I feel it should not be on me to buy equipment to do Eskom's job.

Govt should fix it or give me tax incentives.

They can't just take and take and take.

I managed to get it right this year... so it can be done... just a lot of work

Not saying it can't be but seems every time there's some dispute over their price increases out comes the load-shedding stick.

I'm not the first to comment about it too.
 
We are still without power. Went down last night just after 9pm, came back for about 3 hours during the night.

Still no power today because apparently the transformer cannot handle the load. The power that is available has been diverted to industrial area.

In China, power cuts are used to punish groups of people. They openly admit it.
Here the same is done, but somehow the penny hasn't yet dropped that this is not a democracy anymore but a path to communism or socialism, so yes, last nights power cuts and tonight's power cuts are purely punitive. But that cannot be said, probably with reasons to avoid upsetting the few remaining stupid rich people dumb enough to invest in this hellhole.

Eskom lies and lies and lies about how much capacity is out of service etc, and its always about units "tripping". I don't know the full story myself, but given my educational background I can assure you this... using less power, or doing what they say "SWITCH OFF" means absolutely f-all. For example they have forgotten to loadshed our area on more than one occasion, it made not one iota of difference.

Also, doing power cuts when demand is lowest, is totally stupid... you do the damn cuts at peak times i.e. dinner time.

There are power issues if you are in Joburg, local grid related, City Power announced at the start of the heavy rains.

Mine also went out just after 9 when the rain started, I suspected it had nothing to do with loadshedding.

Wrong. You also do power cuts at less inconvenient times to ensure things like pumped storage are replenished at a more opportune time so it can carry you through a period of supply deficit during peaks.

Hmmm, I declared my panels/batteries/inverters as deductible last year. Not a peep from the boys at sars yet. Hopefully it'll stay that way.
 
3 months. Just long enough for people to forget about all the broken promises.

I'm in Heidelberg. According to the local municipality there was vandalism at some "switch" last night that is causing the transformer to trip.

No estimate when it will be restored
