Well it was winter so that always makes a big difference, also companies will start shutting down over the December holidays and Eskom is due some new power from Kusile.

How do you know its load shedding and not a technical fault?

I can see they are taking strain because my alarm clock is losing time meaning they lowered the frequency on the grid.

All areas in the load shedding schedule are down - just not according to the schedule timing. It's also an Occam's Razor type situation.
