Eskom price increase confirmed

Is the 14.24% for municipalities a minimum as it appears some municipal use the tariff increase to tack a few other things.

Get money from your ANC non-paying municipalities and illagal connections you dumb w*nkers!

Our money is running dry as well! SCumbags.

Once again there's sweet ****all we can do about this? If those Eskom bosses came out and said they're taking drastic pay cuts in order to help fund expansion / improvement I wouldn't mind so much.

Why on earth would employees fund a company's expansion out of their salaries?

I wouldn't mind as much as long as they got a 3rd party to show us exactly where the money is going to be spent.

As a gesture of goodwill. Exceptional cases require exceptional behavior. The public are sick of seeing what those bosses get paid and they must surely be aware of that public perception. Taking a 6 month pay cut will hardly affect them, but it will go a long way to making these pay increases seem less hostile to the public.

Eskom need 100s of billions to fund their build program I hardly think a few 1000s taken off the bosses will make a difference. In any why would they accept it when they can simply go work elsewhere for more money instead of consenting to pay-cuts. It is the general wastefulness/overpaying for BEE service providers that needs to be sorted out. Why do they agree to paying a premium to BEE suppliers?

So they're complaining about the short term power purchasing and gas turbines contributing to the massive cost increases, yet a lot of the public have already said that they're happy to deal with daily 2-hour load shedding to help allow for maintenance and recovery.

While I appreciate not having load shedding, you just know that the system is being patched poorly and will ultimately lead to failures.

They do, but don't complain too hard. It is a good tax collection method. It spreads the tax base wider than just the small part of the community who pay property taxes.
(Obviously, given that fees collection is effective, etc.)

Take the bonus away

This is the countries population having to pay for eskoms junk status. If the ****ers just got their house in order and run it correctly we wouldn't be in this predicament

Sorry to say....this is not the country's population paying for this monumental f-up. It is a percentage of the country's population. And of that percentage, I know many monkeypalities will implement the price increase, but do not pay ESKOM so where is the money going?
